The Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center is located in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai on the corner of Hauy Kaew Road and Nimmanahaeminda Road. It is the perfect location to hide from the rain or cool off on a hot day.
The Maya Chiang Mai is spacious and you can easily spend an entire day here. It has six levels, including high and low-end shops, fancy restaurants, two food courts, a gym, and a movie theater. It has something for everyone!
I lived in Chiang Mai for six months and the Maya Mall was within walking distance of my condo. It saved me on several occasions when needing to buy a special occasion outfit that wouldn’t fit in my backpack, as well as helping me to satisfy any Western food craving I was missing.
Let’s explore where to go on a rainy day in Chiang Mai in the Nimman area!
What is on Each Floor of Maya Chiang Mai?
The Basement (My favorite floor!)
Located in the Eastern part of the basement is the “Strolling Mart”. You will find street-style food options for 50 – 200 Thai Baht ($1.50 – $5.50 USD).
My favorite food stall is Maya Mall Vegetarian Stall. They offer hot and cold vegan dishes with optional eggs to add. My go-to item was a hot radish cake and I am not even vegan! They are the first stall when you enter the basement from the east entrance.
The International Market, Rimping Supermarket, is also on the 5th floor. They sell both local and Western products. For the International foods, especially the boxed items, prices compare with Western pricing but it may give you a break from eating pad thai every day.
There is also a BOOTS, which is the equivalent of Walgreens/CVS in the states (without the pharmacy).
Grocery Store Pro Tip
Use my guide on How to Read a Thai Nutrition Label when food shopping for Thai products!
Ground Floor
This floor has fashion stores and a Starbucks. This is where H&M and American Eagle are located. You can find restrooms and ATMs in the west rear of this floor. I found the dress in the picture below at American Eagle!
First Floor
This floor has higher-end clothing shops with Western pricing and Western-sized clothing.
Second Floor
This is the tech floor. You can get a new smartphone, or get your phone repaired as I had to do on my second visit to Chiang Mai. The staff are super friendly and will find the part you need by calling around to other vendors if needed. You can also buy a local Thailand SIM card on this floor.
In addition, Havaianas has a booth here. They had my size flip flop after mine broke and I needed a quick fix. They are not cheap but I have had them for 7 years now.
Third Floor
Here is where you will find sit-down restaurants, including both a la carte, buffet, and western options.
In addition, there is a Daiso. This store is your go-to shop for everything. You can buy hammers, snacks, kitchen gadgets, even Halloween costumes. This is where I buy raincoats and umbrellas in Chiang Mai.
Fourth Floor
This is where the movie theater called SFX Cinema and also games for kids is located.
Rooftop
This is an open area so if it is raining, you will have to wait until it stops to visit. However, there is a cute cocktail bar that serves small bites, called Myst Maya. It opens around 5-6 pm each day.
How to Get to Maya Chiang Mai
- The mall is open every day from 10 am – 10 pm.
- Address: 55 หมู่ที่ 5 Huay Kaew Rd, Chang Phueak, Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand
- Google Map Link: Maya Lifestyle Mall
If you are in the Nimman Area (the Northwest corner of the city) you can easily walk to the mall. The cross streets of Hauy Kaew Road and Nimmanahaeminda Road have bumper-to-bumper traffic most days. The traffic lights are long, so if you decide to walk, prepare to wait.
If you choose to rent a scooter and drive to the Maya Mall, parking is inside the garage on the ground floor. The garage entrance is closer to the West side of the mall.
If you take a Grab car, they will drop you off to the right of the main entrance or sometimes will be directed by security closer to where the scooters park.
If you take a Songthaw (the small red bus you will see around the city), where they drop you off depends on where you picked it up. Usually one of the corners on the main entrance is where they stop.
Is there a Cinema at Maya Mall Chiang Mai?
Yes! Located on the 4th floor. You can purchase movie tickets to SFX cinema online or at the door. Most of the movies are in English with Thai subtitles
Chiang Mai Accommodation Options:

Is there a Gym at Maya Lifestyle?
Yes! It is called Maxx Professional Fitness, located on the 5th floor. The rate has fluctuated every year I have visited but last time it was around $85 USD for a month. They have promotions sometimes as well.
If you need other options in the area, check out my guide on where to work out in Chiang Mai.
Is there a Co-Working Space at Maya?
Yes! It is called C.A.M.P Creative located on the 5th floor. The wifi is reliable and fast. As long as you buy something from the cafe you can stay for two hours for free. It can get a little noisy at times, but it’s a cheap place to get some work done. Watch this video review for a full recap.
Final Thoughts
Even though I don’t love shopping, Maya Mall in Chiang Mai has saved me on several occasions. It has been a refuge for me to go to, to get out of the rain. I work for a few hours and then catch a movie before buying amazing food and heading home.
If you are staying in a condo for longer than a week and that condo is missing a few essential items, Maya Mall will be your fastest option to buy some cheap products.
I hope you enjoy your next visit to Maya Chiang Mai!
